Ice Maker Repair

Standalone clear-ice machines in pantries and bars, plus the ice makers built into refrigerator and freezer columns. We handle inlet valves, harvest assemblies, cutter grids, drain pumps and the supply plumbing behind the cabinet that causes most of the leaks we are called for.

Dark stainless undercounter drawers pulled open, ice and wrapped packages in the upper drawer and bottles laid flat below

Word for word

What gets described on the phone

  • Hollow or cloudy cubes coming off the harvest arm
  • Machine filling with water but never dropping a batch
  • A leak tracking down the cabinet side into the toe kick
  • A bin that smells stale even after a full clean cycle

On the visit

What gets measured

  1. Inlet valve operation and supply pressure at the cabinet
  2. Harvest cycle end to end, including the cutter grid on clear-ice machines
  3. Drain pump and drain line, the source of most of the leaks we are called out for
  4. Bin thermostat and level sensing
  5. Plumbing behind and under the cabinet, including the saddle valve if there is one

The visit and the full diagnosis are the flat $95 call-out. It comes off the repair if you approve one.

What repairs run to

Ice maker, water valve or supply line $280 – $700

Flat $95 service call covering the visit and full diagnosis, credited against the repair once you approve it.

A band is wide because the same symptom has cheap and expensive causes behind it. The diagnosis is what tells you which one you have, and the exact figure is given before any part is ordered.

  • The ice maker inside our column stopped producing anything at all. Its fill tube had frozen solid because the flap heater was dead. Both replaced, and he showed me how to check the arm position myself.

  • A leak was tracking down the cabinet side into the toe kick. It turned out to be the saddle valve on the supply behind the wall, not the machine at all. He fitted a proper stop and tested for an hour.

    Hank R. · Bedford

  • Bar machine at the island end was short cycling and running loud. Its condenser filter had never been pulled since installation and was a solid mat. Cleaned, fan checked, and production back to a full bin.
