Compartment temperatures against the set point, evaporator and condenser behaviour, defrost cycle, thermistor resistance, fan draw, door seal pull. Written down and shown to you at the end of the visit.

Priced before anything is opened
The flat $95 call covers the visit and the full diagnosis and comes off an approved repair. Parts and labour are quoted from those readings, and nothing is ordered until you say yes.
What we work on
One manufacturer, four cabinet types
Sub-Zero built-ins are two sealed systems in one cabinet, which is why a freezer side can hold at zero while the fresh food side drifts into the forties. The work here is refrigeration work: sealed-system diagnosis, defrost and airflow, condenser and evaporator fans, thermistors and control boards, door seals and hinge geometry, ice-maker plumbing and harvest gear.
- 500 and 600 series
- The cabinets already in most Lexington kitchens. Defrost heaters, drain-line ice, evaporator fans and tired door gaskets are the usual four.
- 700 and 736 drawers
- Undercounter refrigerator and freezer drawers, plus the drawer ice makers that share their plumbing.

Ice cream going soft although the display still read zero. The sensor had drifted several degrees. He recalibrated it, then stayed to watch a full cycle rather than take my word for what it had been doing.

Bar machine at the island end was short cycling and running loud. Its condenser filter had never been pulled since installation and was a solid mat. Cleaned, fan checked, and production back to a full bin.

Humid stretch in July and the built-in up on Belmont Hill ran nonstop with hot air pouring off the lower grille. The fan blade was cracked and out of balance, and half the coil was furred over besides. He replaced the blade and cleaned it down, and it cycles normally again.
