Have the model and serial ready if you can — it is on a plate inside the fresh-food door, usually on the left-hand wall near the top.

The five questions we get most

What does the $95 cover?

The visit and the full diagnosis: temperatures, sealed-system behaviour, defrost, fans, sensors and seals. It is credited against the repair if you approve one. If you do not, the $95 is all that is owed.

Do you work on cabinets that are twenty years old?

Yes. The 500 and 600 series are the bulk of the built-in refrigeration in this part of Middlesex County, and most of what fails on them — defrost heaters, fans, thermistors, gaskets, drain lines — is still serviceable. Sealed-system work on an R-12 cabinet is a different conversation, and one we will have honestly before you spend anything.

The freezer is fine and the fridge is warm. Is that one fault or two?

Almost always one. A built-in with two evaporators can lose the fresh-food side entirely while the freezer holds — a blocked defrost drain, a failed evaporator fan or a damper that has stopped opening. It is a diagnosable fault, not a sign the cabinet is finished.

Can you get a full-height column out of a narrow back kitchen?

Usually. It means clearing the panel, the trim and often a door stop first, and putting board down over the floor. Tell us on the phone if the run to the door is tight or there are steps — it changes what comes on the van.

Do you charge more for evenings or weekends?

The call-out is flat at $95 whenever the visit happens, and the phone is answered 24/7. Work itself is carried out during bench hours, 8:00 am – 8:00 pm, seven days.

  • Ice cream going soft although the display still read zero. The sensor had drifted several degrees. He recalibrated it, then stayed to watch a full cycle rather than take my word for what it had been doing.

    Roland D. · Belmont

  • The unit under the island end was cycling loudly enough to hear from the next room. A rubber isolation foot had crumbled away and the cabinet was resonating against the millwork. Cheap part, enormous difference.

    Frieda S. · Arlington Heights

  • Clear-ice machine in the pantry filled with water but never dropped a batch. The cutter grid had shorted at one end. Replaced, and he flushed the reservoir and scrubbed the bin out while he was at it.

    Odette L. · Bedford
