What the harbour does to a condenser
Salt-laden air is mildly corrosive to aluminium fin stock and to the steel around it. In a kitchen a few streets from the water, with windows open through the summer, a condenser accumulates a deposit that is not simply dust: it is dust bound to a film that resists a brush and holds moisture against the fins.

Lynn sits at the outer limit of this bench's run. The flat $95 is the same as everywhere else and there is no travel surcharge, but scheduling is less flexible out here than it is in the towns around Lexington. Worth knowing before you book rather than after.

August humidity and the bin smelled stale no matter how often I cleaned it out. The drain pump was weak and leaving standing water sitting underneath the machine. New pump, a full descale, fresh tubing on the outlet, and three weeks on there is still no smell.
